President Obama was twisting arms to make sure that the Senate did not pass the Keystone pipeline bill. The bill was 4 votes short after President Obama did some lobbying.
Republicans and Democrats know that postponing or canceling the pipeline is bad for America.
No matter what happens expect gas to hit $5.00 a gallon by summer time. Some places already are paying that much.
