China’s military has been dramatically modernized recently. The Chairman of our Joint Chiefs of Staff recently said his interest in these improvements has since become a “concern” and rightfully so. Although the retirement of old legacy systems has reduced the overall “bean “count of tanks, planes, and other weapons systems, the capability of the PRC military is becoming in some cases first class, is being modernized in many areas and could be part of a basis for PRC hegemonic goals.
Now we are looking to cut our military’s funding, while I am sure there are things that could be trimmed, we still need to have the best technology out for our Armed Forces. If nothing else we need to stay at least 3 steps a head of China. Why ? Because they have a huge standing army, and a huge pool of people they can draft compared to us.

Not shocked by this at all. With the Government in the hole, and the loans that bankers were forced to make for political reasons things of come to a head. Now we are waiting for the next drop which should hit us in the very near future. What we are seeing now is banks moving really slowly on foreclosure because they do not wish to have that property on their books.

Massachusetts Attempts to Nullify Electoral College, there are other states that have this type of law. However people are missing the point about the Electoral College. The point is the EC gives each state more power in National elections. With Texas,California and New York’s population being larger then most states it would swing more power to those states in National elections. Our Current system works, while some dislike the fact a person could win the popular vote and lose the election. This is the reason why we have the EC since each states population is different. We don’t want one coast having that much power on who we elect as President.

Something that really bothers me is that we allow elected officials to draw the new lines after the census is taken.
