Is this the Old Russian we live in? Or is it the United States of America?

Czar’s in America? You bet ya! We started out with one, Congress should have screamed bloody murder, someone should have pointed out that they where not part of the United States Government as defined by the Constitution. How many lawyers do we have in Congress? While I don’t know of the top of my head, its a safe bet that we have more then a handful. So why do we keep getting new Czar’s? These posts or positions are filled with long time supporters of which every President happens to be in office. Granted President Obama has doubled the number of Czars, maybe even tripled the number. Since they are trying to avoid the term Czar. However even the President can’t seem to refrain from using the word. He introduced Gil Kerlikowske as the “drug Czar” at a meeting this week.

Steve Forbes was quoted as saying this is a testament to government inefficiency, It underscores the inefficiency of government that you keep … having people, hoping that maybe they will get something done that the massive government bureaucracy cannot.

First for a cabinet post, which is what these positions amount to, they need to be confirmed by the Senate. However with the problems the President has had getting his cabinet confirmed, its no wonder the number of Czar’s have doubled with President Obama’s administration.

Lets keep in mind that President Obama did not start the Czar business but he sure is taking advantage of it.

I think its time that we made all of those seeking Federal Office to pass a test on the Constitution, after all it is the Law of the Land
