“This is the best, most historic healthcare bill we’re going to get,” said Rep. James McGovern (D-Mass.), one of 60 liberals who’d signed a bill pledging to vote against a letter without a “robust,” Medicare-based public option. “At the end of the day, we have to pass something.
Unreal rather then starting over and getting the bill right they just feel they have to have something to the President by the end of the year. This bill is no longer about the American People, it’s now about passing something big for the Obama administration as well as the Democratic party.
Why can’t the hold some additional meetings? Start small and work towards real reform. This is not what we are getting, instead this bill offers more entitlement programs and cuts from Medicare. If there is so much fraud in the system, why have they not stepped up and stopped it before? Why and how can they think that they will definitely cut the fraud now? Yet in this bill they are assuming that they will pay for part of this bill with money from Medicare?
This boggles my mind, it reminds me when I was in sales, and hearing one of the other reps talking about spending money that they have not gotten yet, but are assuming they will get the sale. Yet when they still go out and spend this “money”. Then they are shocked that they did not get the big sale, yet now they have this big credit card bill or second mortgage.
