With President Obama’s quest for the most transparent Administration ever, and Nancy Pelosi’s claim that she would have the most transparent House ever, we are still not seeing it. With the back room deals on all of the major legislation, the Czars appointed without Senate over site, this Administration and Congress maybe one of the most secretive groups ever.
It seems that they all talked a great game like most politicians do, they come up way short on following up on what they promise.
To me when we give our word on something, that’s it, we must follow through with actions. When you strip away everything else, the only real thing we own is our words.
Yesterday AP broke a story,
"Playing politics with public records request"
This is just insane, now to be fair I have not gone back and reviewed information or data on the Bush administration’s handling of FOIA’s.
With that said take a look at a few of the findings by Ted Bridis from AP.
in July 2009, Homeland Security introduced a directive requiring a wide range of information to be vetted by political appointees for “awareness purposes,” no matter who requested it.
Do you see something wrong with this? I mean call me crazy but this sounds like an easy way to filter out information that might hurt your boss.
Career employees were ordered to provide Secretary Janet Napolitano’s political staff with information about the people who asked for records — such as where they lived, whether they were private citizens or reporters — and about the organizations where they worked.
So you make the request for Information and they run a mini- background check on you?
This is insane and made worse by both the Presidents comments about being transparent and by Nancy Peloi’s pledge.
With Congressional approval ratings in the tank, only 11% feel good about them. One would think that they would be trying to do something right. However, both sides still want to play the same blame game.
I am sure someway some how this will all be blamed on Former President Bush.
