When President Obama was on the campaign trail he promised to end earmarks. This spending bill that he will “hold his nose” and sign as White House Chief of Staff said:”We want to just move on. Let’s get this bill done, get it into law and move forward”
Emanuel said : “That’s last year’s business”
Now President Obama can say that it’s last years business, however it will be his signature on the spending bill. The $410 billion bill is said to be loaded with $7.7 billion in earmarks.
President Obama wish to blame President Bush for this bill, however that does not pass with me. He can send it back to Congress and tell them to clean it up. With the amount of money that we are in the hole right now, every penny not spent is a huge deal.
Before he signs this bill I hope everyone calls, emails and sends letters to him asking him to veto it.
Has he not spent enough money already? Is he trying to out spend Bush? It sure seems that way to me.
