With President Obama’s poll numbers falling and the silent majority being silent no more about the current health care reform, it seems that President Obama has taken a play right out of former President Clinton’s play book. Granted President Obama already has 2 wars on, so he can’t attack another country, but what he can do is unleash a special prosecutor on the CIA for Former President Bush’s interrogation tactics. Why after President Obama has said lets look forward and not to the past would he do this? The only reason I can come up with is he wishes to distract the American Public away from the health care reform bill so that the Democratic lawmakers can ram this though Congress. Lets keep in mind that career prosecutors already had reviewed and declined to prosecute the alleged abuses.
What I am waiting to see is if the American Public will swallow this, or will the silent majority keep up the pressure on Congress to move away for the 3 bills they are considering?
There have been some excellent articles on how best to reform our health care system. Most of those have started with the idea to allow Insurance company’s to compete Nation wide, this would create more competition which could/should drive the cost down some. Not to mention reforming the tort laws, if for no one else but the medical professionals and hospitals. One of the biggest monthly bills a Doctor pays is there malpractice insurance.
I don’t have all the answers to the problems, nor do I claim to have them. What I do know is with a problem this large, one that did not happen overnight, we will not be able to fix it with one bill. So why not start small? Look at the 2 or 3 biggest problems and address those. Give it a year to work its way though the system and evaluate to see if its working….
Just something to think about……
