Preview of President Obama’s health care summit…

First lets keep in mind that the President can not pass a law, he can sign a bill into law or veto it. What he can try to do is persuade law makers to pass a bill, or persuade the voters to call in and voice their concerns, urging law makers to pass the President’s bill.

This dog and pony show is for the President to make a personal appeal to you the American Voter. President Obama firmly believes he knows what’s best for the American people. Even after the voters have urged, demanded, begged and screamed for them to slow down on health care, and pass a bill that has real reform. Yet its plan to see that either the President and some Democrats don’t care what the people want, or they think they know better then we do.

On Thursday look for the story’s about those who died because they lacked health care, they will tug on your heart, it is sad when someone dies, no matter the cause. However time and time again, these story’s that President Obama and the other story tellers, like to tell are half truths at best.

While the President said he wanted to start over, he did not really mean that, what he meant was he would get directly involved in pushing this bill down our throats. He has already had Reid prepare the papers to pass this bill via reconciliation process, which in case you don’t know is supposed to be used for budget acts not a law like this, and gives the Democrats a chance of passing this since it will only require 51 votes, and guess who gets to break the tie? VP Biden…..

Lets all keep in mind the President has no intention of taking many or any ( I am guessing any ) parts of the Republican reform bill, and yes there has been one for a long time now. This is a public relations stunt nothing more nothing less.

You know the old saying don’t bite off more then you can chew? That’s what the President and the Democrats have done. Instead of taking a common sense approach to health care reform, the are trying to redesign the entire system. When a car beaks you don’t toss the car you fix what’s broken…. Why are they afraid of not passing this bill? Keep in mind unemployment is pretty high right now, the economy is still in the tank, yet they wish to keep working on this, instead of dealing with the tougher issues. Why??? Simple this is what every liberal has dreamed about for years, being able to tell those who are not as “smart” as them what’s best for them…. Don’t worry about putting food on your kids plate…….. we will give you health care ….. Wake up Washington !!!!!!!!! Is anyone listening? Is the mic on???

White House Press Secretary Gibbs said that he would like to see a Republican bill, then latter after finding out that the Republicans have had a bill drafted for over 6 months or more, he has Dan Pfeiffer, the White House Communications Director, post up on the Whitehouse.org a silly question and an excuse saying the White House knows the Republicans have many bills out there and have yet to be told which one it is they are putting on the table…

To me, what it seems like, is the plane took off with only one pilot, he bailed out, and those in charge are afraid to ask if anyone knows how to fly…..

Health Care again? winners and losers

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

It seems that President Obama and Nancy Pelosi failed to get the message about the health care bill. Since neither one of them our overly concerned about getting elected again, Nancy Pelois because she hails from one of district’s that try’s very hard to be from the far, far left. While President Obama must think that either He will have no problem getting elected again or He has decided that better to be a one term President and have some type of legacy then a two term President and do something good for the Country.

The televised health care meeting between both parties and the President is more smoke and mirrors. If it was not the Democrats would not be still openly talking about forcing the bill through the senate.

The Winners if health care reform is passed are very few. Those that have coverage now will see wait times go up for seeing their Doctors and shorter time with the Doctor, when they do get to see him/her. Not to mention the increase in time it will take to have simple tests done, all because the system will be overloaded. Some of those who will be forced to buy health care will be the younger generation who are healthy and in most case would not buy a private plan. They will be the ones paying the price (in terms of money) for the Federal Government taking over our Health Care system. The elderly and those who have chronic conditions, who already have insurance now, will get less treatment because of the new demand of clients that adding 30 million new patients into the system will create. The new people that get coverage subsidized by this bill ( I just can’t call it reform since its not) will have trouble finding Doctors who are taking new patients, as well as being put on a waiting list to see the Doctor for the first time.

Now I have not mentioned those Doctors who will retire or leave the Medical Profession because of the working conditions that they will have to deal with, trying to see so many new patients while also trying to make a living. Keep in mind that the Doctors who make the least amount of money are the Family Doctors or General practitioners, and those are the first Doctors most have to see before being seen by a specialist. Did I mention we are already short Family Doctors here in the States? The young people now who have the knack or calling for healing, will now go into a Specialized practice or become veterinarians, so they can pay off their student loans.

Why can’t the Politicians try to take a simple approach ? Start small, pass one or two small bills, and see how they work? It would be simple to put a time limit on the bill, so it has to be reviewed, and if need be tweaked or revoked if it does not reduce the cost of health care?

Keep your eyes wide open, please don’t let them use smoke and mirrors to pass this bad bill. Force them to start over and start small. We all know that before a baby can walk it has to learn to crawl, our Federal Officials should take a lesson or three from them.

Why can’t the Democrats let us see the Health Care bill before its passed?

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Public opinion polls show lagging support for the measure, although Democrats argue that will change once legislation passes and consumers see benefits.
My simple question is why can’t or won’t the Democrats let us read this bill, if it is so good, before its passed?? Something seems really fishy for their to be this many people who are against this bill but yet the Democrats refuse to allow us to see it, what is the huge rush? I don’t want a bill that’s poor passed at all! Do they really think they are that much smarter then all of us?

Congress not listening

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Not sure at this point who Congress represents, their party, the people or company’s who donate the most to their campaigns or “We the People” Wait I know its not we the people. Since more then half of the people in the US are saying we are heading in the wrong direction, depending on which poll numbers you look at it can go as high as 57%, then there are the poll numbers that show between 55-64% disapprove of the way congress is running the country. Even if its an even split, which is how the Presidents numbers are now, one would think that maybe Congress would at least think about what We the People are saying to them.

I don’t know one person who thinks our health care system does not need to be improved, NOR do I know one person who thinks its a good idea for the Federal Government to take over the health care industry. What makes matters worse is few of us have even had the time to read the senate bill. We do know that Senator Lincoln took a bribe from Reid in order to for the Senator to vote for bringing the motion to the floor. Hey its only 100 million dollars earmarked for Louisiana. BTW that’s Federal Tax money meaning yours and my tax dollars at work….

What really gets me is that we are so far in debt that there is very little hope of us digging ourselves out before our Grand kids die, but we can afford to add more to our debt? I wish I could run my household like that. Just keep printing money and not worry about paying anything down. At what point will We truly take back our country? Both Parties have robbed so much from the American Citizen, its no wonder that we are so divided as a Country.

Harry Reid at it again

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Sen. Reid just filed cloture on the motion to proceed to HR 3590, the Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act. Remember he is using HR 3590 as a ’shell’ to offer his 2,074 page health bill as a substitute amendment. The cloture vote on the motion to proceed will be Saturday evening at 8:00 pm. Remember Democrats need 60 votes to achieve cloture.

Lets keep in mind that there is no need to try and sneak this through by attaching it to bill 3590…. If they have the votes for health care then use that bill if not do what the smart thing would be and go back to the drawing board.

I first read this at the Baltimore Reporter this morning

Neck, Back Pain and live in Maryland? Your in luck

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

If you have neck or back pain and living in Maryland, your very lucky. I have had surgery on my spine, and was still in pain and having numbness in my fingers…. When I asked the Surgeon his response was that’s better then before and it might get even better or stay the same. Well it had not gotten better, and since I work on computers its nice to be able to feel my fingers, so I asked some of my friends if they had heard of anything or anyone that could help. For awhile no luck, until I reconnected with an old friend from childhood. I will tell you the story of reconnecting another day, however as luck would have it Her husband is one of the Great Doctors who owns a chiropractic and wellness practice. I got to be honest, I played sports most of my life, and was ready to buy into what the surgeon told me about my hands being numb. So it was with great reluctance that I decided to try it. First he recommended a few Doctors in the Annapolis area, however being one of those people who think first impressions are key, and the two offices I called did not inspire me to make an appointment, I put it off again. One day my fingers and hands went totally numb again and I emailed my friend, asking her to set up and appointment with her Husband for me. Keep in mind this is an hour drive both ways for me, however I really wanted to feel my hands and fingers again.

First day was great my friend was not in the office however the Lady who checked me made me feel welcome and gave me one hell of a good first impression of the quality of people my friend hires. (It’s her husband that’s the Doctor but we all know who’s really in charge :) lol). Just to set the stage a bit, I had meet Dr.Shefts at a social setting and he seemed super cool, however being cool does not always mean being good at what you do. So I was a little worried… For a few reasons, one his wife is a person who’s known me for a very long time, and was and will always be one of those people that no matter how long its been since you have heard from them, you stop what your doing and rush to help out. (Not that she has every needed it) The second is I really like Lenny, my kind of people. What I mean by that is he says what’s on his mind, and leaves the drama and BS alone. I am not saying he agrees with my views since we have not really talked about all those things :)

Back to my visit, I was taken to a room, and asked to watch a video, I know first thing that came to my mind was all crap its a sales pitch, however I was wrong, it was about giving me some insight on how my spine works in relation to the rest of my body. Stuff I never real thought about. Then Dr.Shefts came in, he took a few x-rays and I was out the door. Next visit 2 days. First adjustment was nothing short of awesome, I could feel my fingers :) loving life! However that great feeling ended a few hours latter. Which unless my mind is messing with me again, is what he said to expect. 2 days latter back into the office, and with another adjustment, another great day, this lasted longer then the first and low and behold my pain levels went down. Keep in mind I can handle the pain, its the numbness in my fingers that bothers me. So the reduction in pain is a bonus. Who knew? I had no clue on how any of this worked, I had went through life treating my aliments with a band aid instead of getting the right fix. I have had more visits and with each on I am getting better and better.

Let me back up a bit here and say that my neck pain was not the reason I went in, nor was the pain in my back. I was only wanted to be able to feel my hands again. So having all of these extra things start to go away are a huge bonus.

I am on my second full week and had a great visit today! I am on my feet all weekend taking pictures of my two nephews football games as well as the rest of the Org’s game or as many as I can get to. So Mondays are pretty bad for me body wise. Today was the first Monday that I did not wake up with a body hangover. Meaning my body did not hurt all over (I gave up drinking awhile ago)first Monday that I can remember since I stopped drinking that I started the week feeling so good. Tonight I still feel good physically and mentally. Not sure what I would have done had I not reconnected again with Anita. I can only guess that I would have had my second surgery on my spine or at least have had the date set for it. With more time my back and neck pain may be gone, who knows? I do know that if my back and neck feel the way they feel right now, for more then 2 weeks its a major improvement.

I am looking forward to my next visit, how many of you can say that about going to the Doctor?
