Gun Control, School Shootings

Gun Control is not the answer
What will work is addressing mental health issues and securing our schools.

Banning guns will not work because if someone is mentally and decides they wish to harm people they will figure out a way to do so.

What we need to do is secure our schools. There should be only one entrance that non-students can use. With a buzzer to allow visitors to enter the building. The resource officer should not be sitting at a desk but patrolling the exterior of the school. By doing this he/she will be able to see the daily normal routine of the schools students going out for gym class, or what other purpose they exit the building for class.

Depending on the size of the school we may need to have more then one resource officer assigned to the school. The resource officers should also be informed of troubled students, so they can keep an eye on them.
These are just a few things off the top of my head that the schools can do to limit access and id problem children.

Banning a certain type of gun or making a law abiding citizen wait 10 days to buy a firearm does not prevent school or any mass shooting. All that does is makes the process to buy a gun more time consuming then it already is. Every time a person buys a firearm they must go through the Background check. Regardless of how many times they have purchased a firearm. This can get a instant approval, delayed approval or denied. They only time background checks are not performed are in private sales. Meaning person to person. Some states require you to do the background checks with person to person sales. Which is also the gun show loop hole. People will walk around with signs or guns themselves trying to sell them at the show.
