1. Tort reform, I am setting the max amount of money for damages to be 3 times the amount the person earned in the last 5 years. If its a child or someone who has not worked, then its based on the dollar amount of the highest paid congressmen.
2. All insurance company’s are allowed to compete Nation Wide. The Federal Government will absorb the States Insurance Commissioners or whatever they are calling them.
3. Since we live in America where we encourage the free market, we will give each pharmaceutical company a 5 year term that prevents generic competition provided you sell the drug for no more then 12% profit. (Net Profit) not gross.
4. For each person with a health care plan that they are happy with stay with it. If you do not have health care and can afford it, you will no longer be treated at any hospital unless you have the cash to pay for it. Those who can not afford it are already qualified for State or Federal programs, IT IS THE INDIVIDUALS responsibility to sign up for these programs. All Federal and State programs need to be promoted to insure that people are aware of these programs.
5. No person not legally in the Country will be treated without notifying DHS and INS. These Federal agency’s are required by law to enforce the laws. Which means deporting these people. Keep in mind we treat and inform!
6. If you happen to lose your job, the insurance company’s must carry you provide you pay the premium for a minimum of 6 months. The portion that you have been paying through your job. Not the entire amount. When you find new employment you may keep the same insurance provided you make up any difference in the monthly premium. The 6 months is not to much to ask the insurance company’s to pick up the other part of the premium since most times people are not using the insurance.
7.NOTE Insurance company’s may NOT cancel you for any reason once they have accepted you into the program regardless if they did not do due diligence on you, it is their job to gather any information that they need in order to set up your account. If the person signing up for the insurance program does not fill out everything perfect, in full or not 100% correct,It does not matter, it is up to the insurance company’s to due the due diligence before the accept the first check.
8. Since we are placing the burden of due diligence on the insurance company’s we are going to have a Federal Data base for health care, this data base will be set up in order to protect the insurance company’s as well as the patient, and the Doctor. Your medical history will be stored on-line. You may opt out of this program however doing so puts the burden on you, the individual to provide a copy of your complete medical history at time of application. Keep in mind this will protect the patient if they are in a bad accident since any ER in the Country will be able to look up your records provided that they have the proper access codes. This will prevent them from giving you medicine you are allergic to, and will also allow them to contact your Doctor and family if necessary. This will also help reduce prescription abuse. Since Doctors will be allowed access to your complete records.
9. In order to give more buying power to the individuals, any group of friends, family or community can join together in order to shop for the best health care prices. This will give the power back to the consumer. (Keep in mind that University can have their students sign up as well since most students are younger this would give them better pricing) etc….
10. Congress is required by law to review cost of medical procedures every 2 years after this law goes into affect. If the cost of medicine does not go down from the date that this bill becomes law by at least 15% congress will need to adjust this bill.
11. Seniors citizens and Children will always be treated no matter what. The bill for Children will be sent to the parents, if the bill is not paid the local Social Service office will set up an appointment with you, to find out why you do not have health insurance for your children, if it is because you can not afford it, they will find a program for your child that helps pay the bill, if its because you are an idiot and wanted the big new shiny car, home theater system etc.. they may take your children from you and place them with a family who wants children and understands that having children is a responsibility
The idea is to keep everyone some what happy. Nothing in life is perfect, so you should not expect this bill to be. However at the very least you can understand it.
For those of you who don’t know, I was a rotten provider for my family for a long time since I was living on the street, So yes I have been on both sides of the fence. Only saving grace for my children at the time was my Ex-wife was smart enough to get rid of me.
