Abortion, Murder

Last night as I was about to fall asleep, I could not stop thinking about a show I had watched. There where two Doctors in the show(actors) one was calling the baby a fetus the other was calling the baby a baby. The reasoning the one Doc gave of calling it a fetus was for emotional reasons, as the Mother was having a tough time with the pregnancy and was in danger of losing the baby.

What I could not stop thinking about is the question of what is life? Wiki defines a cell as the smallest unit of an organism that is classified as living. In biology, an organism is any living system (such as animal, plant, fungus, or micro-organism). In at least some form, all organisms are capable of response to stimuli, reproduction, growth and development, and maintenance of homeostasis as a stable whole. An organism may either be unicellular (single-celled).

With this train of thought I come to my question at what stage of pregnancy are you allowed to commit murder? By using scientific names like fetus and embryo we try to remove some of the guilty we feel. Men are just as guilty in this process either by taking no responsibility or by pressuring the lady to get an abortion. I understand about the special times when there is rape, incest or the mothers health and I support those. Other then those issues a women does have a choice as well as the man. They can have sex and risk having a baby, or they can abstain until they are ready to have a baby.

Lets face it no birth control is 100% safe, not for preventing STD’s or pregnancy. While I would be an idiot to think that people are going to stop having sex outside of marriage, nor do I expect them too. I think people need to take responsibility for their actions. By taking responsibility I do not mean running down to the clinic to have an abortion.
